Aims of the course
The aim of this session is to help those working in the care environment understand the problems that sufferers of dementia experience.
The session is aimed at all management and staff. We will look at the specific impairments and behaviour changes a sufferer will go through. How to achieve person centred care.
Carers will undertake an assessment at the end of the session.
Course Content
- Understanding the different types of dementia and the area of brain that are affected
- Communication and listening skills
- 5 key messages
- Legislation covering dementia
- Understanding policies and procedures
On completion of this course the attendees will have covered these topics along with a number of others.

2/3 hrs and a max 15 attendees or to suit your venue.
